Guido Fuchs

Guido Fuchs (born October 8, 1953 in Göppingen ) is a Catholic liturgist and publicist .

Life

Fuchs studied musicology, theology and Byzantine studies and completed his habilitation in 1996 in Würzburg . He taught in Hildesheim from 1992 to 2005 at the college for church community service (with teaching assignments in Magdeburg and Paderborn). In 2000 he took over a professorship in Würzburg and has been an adjunct professor at the chair for liturgical science since 2003 .

Fuchs is editor of the periodical Liturgie Beton , an aid to the organization of the divine service, whose editor he took over in 1987, as well as the author of numerous scientific and practical books on divine rites and their everyday context. He heads the Institute for Liturgy and Everyday Culture in Hildesheim with the Research Center for Culinary and Religion. In 2016 he was awarded the Science Prize of the Culinary Forum.

He is married to Monika Fuchs, b. Maßmann, and has three children.
