Guido Gassner

Guido Andreas Gassner (born December 1, 1859 in Bludenz ; † October 7, 1933 there ) was an Austrian politician and brewer . From 1918 to 1919 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Guido Gassner first attended secondary school in Innsbruck and then completed his military service as a one-year volunteer with the artillery in Graz . He attended the brewery school in Weihenstephan and subsequently completed practical years in large breweries in Germany , Belgium and France. From 1885 he was in the Fohrenburg brewery owned by Ferdinand Gassner and Comp. employed, in 1888 he became a partner in this company. In 1897 he left the company Getzner, Mutter und Cie and devoted himself exclusively to his work as authorized signatory of the Fohrenburg brewery , where he was senior partner from 1926.

Politics and functions

Gassner was a member of the German Liberal Party and later belonged to the Greater German Party . He was a member of the Progress Association and the German Freedom Association in Bludenz and worked there as chairman. He was also a board member of the Bludenz Orchestra and co-founder of the Bludenz winter sports club. He was chairman of the Bludenz section of the Alpine Club from 1985 to 1886. Gassner was a friend and sponsor of national associations to which the Liederkranz, the Völkische Turnverein, the Südmark Association and the German School Association belonged. Furthermore, he was committed to the rifle guild, as well as the traditional costume, animal welfare and museum association.

Gassner represented the German Liberal Party from November 3, 1918 to June 16, 1919 in the Vorarlberg provisional state assembly and was also a substitute member of the state government for Franz Natter .

Private

Guido Gassner was the son of the Bludenz factory owner Johannes Gassner (1821–1888) and his Verona- born wife Domenika Epple (1827–1882).
