Guido Guerrasio

Guido Guerrasio (born July 9, 1920 in Milan - † May 3, 2015 ) was an Italian film journalist and documentary director .

Life

After graduating in literary studies, Guerrasio worked as a journalist until the end of the war , primarily in the field of film criticism for "Libro e Moschetto", "Cinema" and "Bianco e Nero". From 1945 to 1951 he was editor-in-chief of the periodicals "Cinetempo" and "Nuovo Cinema". From 1948 he made numerous short documentaries, he also worked as a writer of treatments and scripts, organized the film festival in his hometown and founded both the “Museo del Cinema” and the “Cineteca Lumière”. As a journalist, he continued to write numerous articles for newspapers and magazines.

From the late 1950s he was also responsible for full-length films as a director; In addition to his many collaborations for Mondo films , which he often sniffs and commented on, in 1962 he shot his only pure feature film, Dal sabato al lunedi, based on his own script. His last film was a report-style film about his compatriots' bedroom preferences.

In the 1990s, Guerrasio worked on various theater projects.

Awards

In 1970 Guerrasio received a Nastro d'Argento for his films on artistic subjects.
