Guido Laczko (born September 17, 1966 - September 26, 2010 ) was a Swiss ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HC Thurgau in the National League B.

Career

Laczko began his professional career in 1985 at EHC Chur in the National League B (NLB), the second highest division in Switzerland. In 1986 the striker moved to the National League A for SC Bern for two seasons before returning to EHC Chur and scoring 23 goals in 32 games in the 1988/89 season. In 1989, Guido Laczko was signed by EV Zug and was able to play again in the top division. In 1991 he finally switched to the traditional club HC Davos and a year later to HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in the NLB. From the 1994/95 season Laczko then played for HC Thurgau before ending his career as an ice hockey player in 1997.

illness

After his active career, Guido Laczko was diagnosed with the incurable nerve disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Laczko died on September 26, 2010 at the age of only 44 as a result of the disease.
