Guillaume Fichet (born September 16, 1433 in Le Petit-Bornand-les-Glières , Savoy , † around 1480 in Rome ) was a French theologian and humanist .
Guillaume Fichet became prior of the Sorbonne in Paris in 1461 . In 1467 he became rector , in 1470 professor of rhetoric and university librarian. Together with Johannes Heynlin , he set up the first printing press in France in 1470 . Fichet was the ambassador of Louis XI. , later chamberlain of Pope Sixtus IV.
