Guillermo Díaz , full name Guillermo Díaz Gastambide , (born December 31, 1979 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Depending on the sources, the 1.80 meters or 1.83 meters tall defensive player played in 2002 for the then Uruguayan second division team Rentistas and completed 28 games (one goal) for the Segunda División there in Apertura and Clausura in 2002 . From 2003 to 2004 a station at Peñarol was run for Díaz. In the 2007/08 season he had 15 appearances in the Clausura for Juventud in the Primera División . In the same year he joined the Honduran club Motagua . There he played a total of 71 league games (three goals) from Apertura 2008 to Clausura 2010. He was also used in at least two Copa Sudamericana matches . At the turn of the year he then joined the Peruvian club Melgar . There were 20 league games for him in 2011. At the beginning of January 2012 he moved back to Uruguay. There he signed up with the first division club El Tanque Sisley . For his last club, he played 35 games in the Primera División, nine of them in the 2013 Apertura until his last appearance on December 15, 2013. After that Apertura, he ended his career.
