Guillermo Huerta Huitrón (born July 3, 1966 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player who mainly acted on the defensive .

career

As a player

Huerta began his professional career in 1986 at Club America , with whom he won the Mexican football championship twice in a row in the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons . He was also part of the squad that won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup three times in 1987, 1990 and 1992 and the Copa Interamericana in 1991 . For the 1994/95 season he moved to league rivals Atlético Morelia .

He also made the leap to the Mexican national soccer team early on , for which he made three appearances in 1988, but was later no longer nominated.

As a trainer

After his active career, Huerta started working as a trainer. After working in the coaching staff of the then second division team Tigrillos UANL in 2004 , he then worked in the coaching staff of Club America, where he looked after various reserve and junior teams between 2008 and 2013. In the 2013/14 season he was responsible for the CD Zacatepec 1948, which was newly included in the second division , and is currently (2017) responsible for the Puebla FC youth team playing in the Segunda División .
