society

At the beginning of his career, Mendizábal was active for his hometown club CD Cruz Azul for nine years , then moved to UAG Tecos for two years and then to Spain for the Madrid district club Rayo Vallecano for a year . Back in Mexico, he played for five years for Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he ended his active career in 1991. He later worked as a coach at Club León and the UAT Correcaminos . He was also the sports director of his former club Cruz Azul and has been vice president of CD Veracruz since 2003.

Overall, Mendizábal was three times champion of the Mexican Primera División : 1979 and 1980 with Cruz Azul and 1987 with Guadalajara. It was interesting that the final of 1987 took place between his then current club Guadalajara and his former club Cruz Azul. Guadalajara was able to prevail relatively clearly with 3: 0 and 1: 2.
