Guillotine is a Swedish thrash metal band from Umeå that was founded in 1995 under the name Holocaust .

history

The band was founded in 1995 by singer and guitarist Fredrik Mannberg and bassist Nils Eriksson as a side project to Nocturnal Rites under the name Holocaust. After a few rehearsals, the band changed their name to Guillotine and released their first demo Under the Guillotine in 1995 . As a result, the band reached a contract with Necropolis Records . Drummer Efraim Juntunen joined the band and work on the debut album began. The album was released in 1997 under the name Under the Guillotine . From 1998, Fredrik Mannberg and Nils Eriksson concentrated on Nocturnal Rites again, so the Guillotine project had to pause for the time being.

In 2007 the band came together again, with two new members in the band. The group recorded the two songs War and Blood Money for another demo. In early 2008 the band reached a contract with Pulverized Records and released the album Blood Money on this label in 2008.

style

The band is stylistically based on classic, simply structured Thrash Metal, with the music being comparable in sound to Kreator and lyrically to Tankard .
