Onslow Stevens

Onslow Ford Stevenson (born March 29, 1902 in Los Angeles , California - † January 5, 1977 in Van Nuys , Los Angeles, California) was an American actor .

Life

Onslow Ford Stevenson was the son of actor Houseley Stevenson and the older brother of actor Housely Stevenson junior and costume designer Edward Stevenson . From the mid-1920s he worked with his family at the Pasadena Community Playhouse , where he made his theater debut. He then moved to New York City , where he played on Broadway . He made his film debut in the 1931 film drama The Gay Diplomat, directed by Richard Boleslawski , in a minor supporting role alongside Betty Compson and Purnell Pratt . Up to and including 1962 he was seen in more than 120 productions, in the 1950s and 1960s mainly in various television series.

Stevens suffered a hip fracture in 1977 and died after completing pneumonia in a nursing home at the age of 74 . He was married four times in his life. Stevens got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6349 Hollywood Blvd.
