The Gulkana Glacier is a glacier in the US state of Alaska on the southern flank of the eastern Alaska range .

geography

The 7 km long valley glacier has its nutrient area at an altitude of 2100  m between Institute Peak in the west and Icefall Peak in the east. The approximately 500 m wide glacier flows south and ends at an altitude of approximately 1400  m . The glacier tongue forms the source of Phelan Creek , a right tributary of the Delta River . The glacier is on the decline.

The Richardson Highway passes the glacier tongue of the Gulkana glacier at Paxson at a distance of 9.5 km.
