Gunn sign

The Gunn sign (after Robert Marcus Gunn ; also: crossing phenomenon ) is a term used in ophthalmology . It describes a retinal damage caused by disorders in the blood circulation ( arteriosclerosis , high blood pressure etc.) with changes in the fundus , often in patients with retinopathia hypertonic or retinopathia diabetic . Small veins in the retina are compressed by intersecting arteries .
