Demographics
The city's population is 126,270 according to the 2011 census. Guntakal has a gender ratio of 1009 women per 1000 men and thus a rare excess of women for India. The literacy rate was 74.9% in 2011. Almost 71% of the population are Hindus , approx. 25% are Muslim and approx. 4% belong to another or no religion. 10.4% of the population are children under 6 years of age.
