Gunter Sieberth

Gunter Sieberth (* 1965 ) is a German oboist .

Life

Gunter Sieberth comes from Meiningen in Thuringia. From 1978 to 1983 he attended the special school for music in Weimar. He then studied at the Liszt School of Music Weimar with Axel Schmidt , principal English horn player in the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra . Sieberth was a trainee at the Staatskapelle Weimar during his studies and graduated in 1988 with a diploma. Since then he has been 1st principal oboist in the Jena Philharmonic . He is also a lecturer for oboe at the Belvedere Castle Music High School (Weimar) and in master classes at the Thuringia State Music Academy . He lives in Jena.

As a chamber musician, he worked with the harpist Volker Sellmann and performed with the Ludwig Güttler chamber orchestra . He is also a member of the wind quintet of the Jena Philharmonic. In 2008 he founded the Trio Saphiro together with the Frankfurt harpist Bettina Linck and the Meiningen concert soprano Anna Gann .
