Gunther Gerhardt (* 1951 in Hamburg ) is a German historian . Since 1987 he has headed the company archive of Deutsche Philips GmbH in Hamburg. From 1988 to 2011 he headed the city ​​archive and the museum in the city of Walsrode .

After graduating from high school (1970) and completing basic military service, Gerhardt completed a course of studies for a higher teaching post (history, geography) at the University of Hamburg with subsequent legal clerkship. After receiving his doctorate , from 1985 to 1990 teaching positions in contemporary history at the University of Hamburg followed. In 1984 he conceived an exhibition on the church history of Lüneburg, 1985/86 he had research stays in the USA and from 1987 he conceived and directed the company history archive of Deutsche Philips GmbH .

Gerhardt set up and managed the Walsrode city ​​archive from 1988 to 2011 , where he was also director of the Rischmannshof open-air museum from 1990 to 2011 . In addition, there were specialist lectures, exhibitions and open-air events. During this time, he supervised regional and urban history research and publication projects and published other publications.
