Gunther Schepens (born May 4, 1973 in Gent ) is a former Belgian football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

The 1.75 m tall Schepens moved as a 24-year-old from Standard Liège to Karlsruher SC for the 1997/98 season . He occupied the left flank or the left midfield. Schepens was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with KSC, where he played another season for Baden. In 1999 Schepens went back to Belgium to KAA Gent .

Most recently he played at Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz in Austria. After the club went bankrupt in the 2004/05 season, he ended his career.

For the Belgian national team , he played in 13 international matches from 1995 to 1997 and scored three goals.
