Gustav Adolph von Dassel (born February 24, 1816 in Neu Belz , Fürstenthum district ; † April 17, 1894 in Berlin) was a state stable master at the Trakehnen main stud .

Life

He came from the Dassel family (patrician family) . Following stations in the military, he made it to the state stable master in Trakehnen. In this position he worked from 1864 to 1888. He succeeded Friedrich Ernst August von Schwichow .

In the first few years he crossed Hanoverians and Anglo-Normans into the pure-blood line. The breeding result clearly missed expectations, so that he returned to the pure-blood line. The horses of the English thoroughbred breed that he then used established a successful line.

On October 8, 1847, he married Elise Bandemer , who was later awarded the Cross of Merit for Women and Virgins . The couple had four sons, Hanno Werner Traugott (1850–1918), Paul (1853–1896), Johannes von Dassel (1863–1929) and Wilfried (born May 20, 1867, died September 30, 1914) and two daughters , Asta (1852-1932) and Martha (1857-1944). Johannes made a military career and they also had a daughter. Wilfried was the personal page of the later Emperor Wilhelm II. And often had to accompany him as an officer.
