Gustav Albrecht (publisher)

Gustav Albrecht (born December 20, 1890 in Berlin ; † 1947 ) was director of the German news agency (DNB) and publishing director.

Career

Gustav was born as the illegitimate son of Theodor Reismann-Grone . He later named Gustav Albrecht as his father. He studied law and history in Heidelberg, Munich, Giessen and Berlin. 1912 doctorate in Giessen . In 1914 he became political editor of the "Rheinisch-Westfälische Zeitung" in Essen, and from 1915 to 1918 he was chief editor of the "Post" in Berlin. From 1918 to 1930 he worked for the national-conservative business newspaper of his father Rheinisch-Westfälische Zeitung in Essen as publishing director and editor-in-chief.

On May 15, 1933, he became the publishing director of the former Jewish WTB ( Wolffs Telegraphisches Bureau ) on behalf of the Propaganda Ministry . From 1939 to 1945 he was director of the German news office (DNB).
