Gustav Adolf "Gösta" Almgren (born November 6, 1906 in Vänersborg , † August 31, 1936 in Gothenburg ) was a Swedish sword fencer .
successes
Gustav Almgren was vice world champion with the team in Lausanne in 1935 . The following year he took part in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , where he only competed in the team. Together with Birger Cederin , Hans Drakenberg , Gustaf Dyrssen , Hans Granfelt and Sven Thofelt , Almgren reached the final round, which the Swedish team finished in silver behind Italy and ahead of France and Germany . Almgren died in Gothenburg just two weeks after the games .
