Hans Drakenberg (born February 4, 1901 in Stockholm , † November 1, 1982 in Malmö ) was a Swedish sword fencer .

successes

Hans Drakenberg became individual world champion in Lausanne in 1935 and was awarded the Svenska-Dagbladet gold medal for this success . He was also runner-up with the team in 1935. He won further silver medals in the team competition in Piešťany in 1938 and in Cairo in 1949 . In 1933 in Vienna , 1934 in Warsaw and 1937 in Paris , he secured bronze with her. In 1934 he also won bronze in singles. Drakenberg took part in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , where he narrowly missed a medal win in the individual competition, finishing fourth. Together with Birger Cederin , Hans Granfelt , Gustaf Dyrssen , Gustav Almgren and Sven Thofelt , he also reached the final round in the team competition, which the Swedish team finished in silver behind Italy and ahead of France and Germany .
