Andrei Michailowitsch Schuwalow ( Russian Андрей Михайлович Шувалов ; born January 8, 1965 in Pskow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet sword fencer .

successes

Andrei Shuvalov won numerous medals at world championships . In 1987 in Lausanne and 1991 in Budapest he became world champion with the team, and in 1991 he also won the individual title. He secured second places in 1986 in Sofia with the team and 1987 in the individual, in 1985 and 1990 he won bronze with the team. Shuvalov took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 1988 , he won bronze in the individual and team competitions in Seoul . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he was part of the delegation of the United Team , with whose epee team he again won the bronze medal. In the individual he finished eleventh.
