Gustav Ehart

Gustav Ehart (born August 28, 1876 in Ottnang am Hausruck , Upper Austria, † June 7, 1968 in Linz ) was an Austrian railway employee and politician.

Ehart learned to become a locksmith and then worked in the Krauss locomotive factory in Linz. From 1902 until his retirement in 1925 he was foreman at the Federal Railroad. He was chairman of the railway workers' union and secretary of the union and legal protection association in Linz. His marriage in 1901 has two children.

Politically active Ehart was mainly in local politics; from 1911 to 1934 he was social democratic councilor of the city of Linz and chairman of the housing committee, from 1927 to 1931 he was also a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament . He was a member of the social democratic state party executive until its dissolution in 1934.
