Gustav Floerke

Gustav Floerke (born August 4, 1846 in Rostock ; † October 15, 1898 there ) was a German writer and art historian .

Life

Gustav Floerke was the son of Senator Gustav Floerke. He studied law at the University of Rostock and the University of Jena . In 1867 he was reciprocated in the Corps Guestphalia Jena . Under the influence of Friedrich Eggers , he switched to art history . In the 30th Infantry Regiment he took part in the Franco-German War as a vice sergeant . With the doctoral thesis already started in Rostock, he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. He went to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In Munich he made friends with Heinrich von Reder . In the spring of 1871 he went to Italy. He was only 52 years old and left behind the son Hanns Floerke .
