Gustav Gerecke
Gustav Gerecke (born September 25, 1871 in Braunschweig ; † April 21, 1929 there ) was a German social democratic minister.
Live and act
Gerecke had trained as a locksmith and plumber and worked as a small trader. He was a member of the USPD since 1917 . He was chairman of the Braunschweig district from 1920 to 1922 before joining the SPD in 1922 . From 1922 to 1924 he was district chairman of the Braunschweig SPD.
From 1919 to 1924 Gerecke was a member of the Braunschweig Landtag . After the November Revolution he was in the first government from November 10, 1918 to February 22, 1919 People's Commissar for Food. He was a member of the subsequent Oerter cabinet (February 22 to April 30, 1919) with the same function. He took on an extended area of responsibility as Minister for Food, Trade and Transport in the Jasper cabinet until June 26, 1919, before being replaced by Otto Antrick .
