Gustav Heinrich Selig
Gustav Heinrich Selig (* 1791 in Lüneburg , † 1862 in Scharnebeck ) was a German liberation fighter and administrative lawyer.
Life
Gustav Heinrich Selig was the son of the secretary Selig in Lüneburg. From 1810 he studied law at the University of Göttingen and, as evidenced by the criminal files of the university in 1812, became a member of the Corps Hannovera Göttingen . He took part in the Lüneburg Jäger Battalion in the Wars of Liberation . For his participation in the Battle of Waterloo he received the Waterloo Medal (HWM) . In 1819 he changed to the administrative service of the kingdom as a lieutenant in the Hanoverian army and in 1824 became an official assessor in Wennigsen , later in the Wittmund office . From 1837 to 1852 Selig was bailiff of the Hanover office of Scharnebeck and then retired.
