Gustav Humbert

Gustav Humbert (born February 1950 in Celle ) is a German manager and was head of Airbus from July 2005 to July 2006 .

Life

Humbert attended the Lehrte high school . After graduating from high school , he studied mechanical engineering and production engineering at the Technical University of Hanover . In 1979 he received his doctorate there. At the age of 30 he discovered aircraft construction and later headed the Hamburg Airbus plant. He modernized this EADS location during the 1990s. He is responsible for the cabin equipment on the Airbus A380 in Hamburg.

On July 2, 2006 it was announced that both Humbert and the co-boss of the parent company EADS, Noël Forgeard , had to give up their posts as a result of the serious crisis of the company due to delays in the planned start of delivery of the Airbus A380.

In 2008, Humbert was taken into custody and questioned by the French police on suspicion of insider trading, alongside former EADS strategy and marketing director Jean-Paul Gut and ex-co-boss Noël Forgeard . In December 2009, the French stock exchange regulator announced that the accused managers were not guilty of insider trading.
