Gustav Meyer zu Belm (born October 23, 1889 in Belm ; † September 30, 1953 in Oldenburg ) was a German politician (DVP).

Life

Meyer zu Belm was born the son of a farmer . From 1895 to 1904 he attended elementary school in Belm and was trained at the Hertford Agricultural School from 1905 to 1908. From 1911 to 1912 Meyer zu Belm belonged to the Minden Field Artillery Regiment No. 58 in Minden . Then he worked again in agriculture. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War, first as an artillery officer until 1915 and then as an aviator from 1916 until the end of the war. In 1919 Meyer zu Belm took over the management of his father's property. In 1920 he married. Politically, he began to get involved in the German People's Party (DVP) at this time .

In the Reichstag elections of September 1930 Meyer zu Belm entered the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic as a Reich election proposal by the DVP , of which he was a member until July 1932. In addition, he was temporarily chairman of the Osnabrück district farmers' association.

After the Second World War , Meyer zu Belm founded the Weser-Ems Chamber of Agriculture and served as its president.
