Gustav Pomaroli

Gustav Pomaroli (born May 29, 1884 in Winklern , Carinthia ; † November 23, 1961 in Villach , Carinthia) was an Austrian teacher , author and brief politician ( SPÖ ).

Teacher

After visiting the elementary school Gustav Pomaroli graduated from the secondary school in Graz , where he in 1903 graduated . Then he studied mathematics and geometry . In 1909 he passed the teaching examination, in 1912 he received his doctorate .

As early as 1910 he found employment as a teacher for mathematics and descriptive geometry at the grammar school in Villach. He was active in this profession for 35 years until 1945. In 1916 he published the non-fiction book Exercise Book of Descriptive Geometry for Realgymnasien, published by the Wiener Verlag Deuticke . It appeared in two volumes. In 1931 he was co-author of the illustrated book Die Stadt Villach , which was published by the Deutscher Kommunal-Verlag .

Pomaroli began his short political career in 1927 when he was sworn in as a member of the Carinthian state parliament . In January 1931 he was sworn in for the Social Democratic Workers' Party of German Austria, the forerunner of today's SPÖ , as a member of the Federal Council. Pomaroli served as Federal Councilor until February 1934.
