Gustav Schwartz (architect)
Gustav Emil Schwartz (born June 1, 1847 in Harpstedt , † October 11, 1910 in Hildesheim ) was a German architect and city architect of Hildesheim.
Gustav Schwartz attended the Andreanum grammar school in Hildesheim from 1861 to 1864 and then studied at the Polytechnic School in Hanover from 1864 to 1870 , where he was a student of the architect Conrad Wilhelm Hase . From 1870 to 1876 he worked at von Hase's architecture office, interrupted in 1870/71 by military service. From 1875 to 1876 he studied again at the Polytechnic School in Hanover. From 1876 to 1910 he was the first full-time city architect of Hildesheim under Lord Mayor Gustav Struckmann and was appointed building officer in 1900 .
He is counted as part of the historic Hanover architecture school .
