Gustav of Elben

Gustav Karl Christian Elben , from 1892 von Elben , (born October 6, 1832 in Reutlingen , † August 12, 1912 in Stuttgart ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Elben was born as the son of the Finance Council and later President of the Chamber of Accounts Friedrich Gustav von Elben and studied law in Tübingen after attending grammar school in Reutlingen . There he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity in 1850 . After completing his studies, he was an auditor for mobilization in Stuttgart from 1859 and a criminal actuary from 1865. In 1869 he became a district judge and public prosecutor in Esslingen , and from 1876 a district judge. In 1879 Gustav Elben was the first public prosecutor to go to the Ravensburg Regional Court, later to Tübingen and in 1887 to Stuttgart. From 1893 he was a higher regional judge and in 1896 became president of the senate at the higher regional court in Stuttgart .

From 1875 to 1880 he was a member of the Württemberg Landtag for the Cannstatt Oberamt . He was a member of the constitutional and justice commissions. In addition, Gustav von Elben was active as a board member of the Disciplinary Court for state officials, as President of the Imperial Disciplinary Chamber for Reich officials in Stuttgart and as a member of the Disciplinary Court for corporate officials.

In 1892 he received the Knight of Honor Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown and the associated personal, non-inheritable nobility .
