Gustave Combe (born May 27, 1882 in Orbe ; † August 30, 1957 ) was a Swiss officer ( Colonel Division ).

Life

Gustave Combe completed school in Basel and did an internship in a trading company. In 1907 he became an infantry instruction officer , and in 1915 he became a general staff officer . From 1921 to 1934 he was head of the intelligence service subgroup of the Swiss Army .

As a troop officer, he led the 3rd Infantry Regiment from 1922, the 3rd Mountain Infantry Brigade from 1930 and the 1st Division from 1935 to 1940 . From 1941 to 1948 he was deputy chief of staff .
