Gustavo Borges
Gustavo França Borges (born December 2, 1972 in Ribeirão Preto ) is a Brazilian swimmer and multiple Olympic medalist.
For the first time Borges took part in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and won a silver medal in the 100 m freestyle . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , he then won another silver medal in the 200 m freestyle and a bronze medal in the 100 m freestyle. Borges won his second bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in the Brazilian swimming relay over 4 × 100 m freestyle. He carried the Brazilian flag at the closing ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . Borges currently lives in São Paulo .
In 2012 Gustavo Borges was inducted into the hall of fame of international swimming .
