The Good The Schaffstal (earlier spelling Sheepfold ) is a Grade II listed Manor House (House Address: Funckstraße 93 and 95 , former location on Schaffstal 1 ) in Wuppertal district Elberfeld-West . It was recognized as a monument on May 28, 1993.

The half-timbered two-story building with a crooked roof has a basement and was built in the middle of the 19th century. Inside, it still has the fabric of the previous building from 1701.

As early as 1633, the old place and farm name Am Schaffstal is mentioned as the seat of a court in the Elberfeld renunciation book. A predecessor to the current building was built in 1701 by Gerhard Conen in half-timbered construction.

At the beginning of the 19th century the farm was owned by Dr. Franz Schleicher, who had the freedom oak planted on the Elberfeld Neumarkt in 1813 . In 1815/16 the place had 13 inhabitants.

In 1832 the Schaffstal belonged to the Dorper Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld . Which according to the statistics and topography of the district of Dusseldorf as Ackergut categorized place was used as the stable Schaaf called and had at this time two houses and four farm buildings. At that time, 17 residents lived in the village, all of them Protestant faith.

In 1834 the farmer Johann Heinrich Knappertsbusch acquired the estate and later expanded it to include the Knappertsbusch grain distillery . The estate burned down around 1846 and was rebuilt as a half-timbered building shortly afterwards. A street name Am Schaffstal was given on August 23, 1947, but this was dissolved in the 1990s.

The manor house is now used as a residential building.
