Knappertsbusch grain distillery
The former Knappertsbusch grain distillery is a listed factory building (address: Funckstrasse 97 and 99 , then Rheinische Strasse ) in the Elberfeld-West district of Wuppertal . It was recognized as a monument on May 18, 2000.
history
In 1834 the farmer Johann Heinrich Knappertsbusch acquired the neighboring estate Am Schaffstal for 5,400 Prussian thalers and expanded it with a grain distillery . The later owner Gustav Knappertsbusch was the father of the conductor Hans Knappertsbusch .
Today the building is used for an architecture office.
