The house Gutsmuthsstraße 2 was a building in the town of Quedlinburg in today's Saxony-Anhalt . It was demolished around 1970 and is considered to be one of the lost important buildings in the historic half-timbered town of Quedlinburg.

The building was on the eastern edge of the historic Quedlinburg old town not far from the Mühlgraben .

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built around 1600. It was 16 containers wide . The framework was built in the form of a so-called row of stands . The threshold of the house was decorated with a dew stick . In addition, there were cylinder beam heads and foot struts . There was a storage floor on the upper floor . The building was covered with a pent roof .

The building belonged to the rear side building of the house Pölle 35, which was demolished in 1899. This building was located in the area of ​​today's house GutsMuthsstraße 1 and GutsMuthsstraße itself, which was only laid out after the demolition. Around 1970 the house, as well as the neighboring houses, also built as side buildings, Gutsmuthsstrasse 3 and 4 were demolished.
