Guy Chambefort

Guy Chambefort (born October 19, 1944 in Saint-Étienne ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2007 .

Chambefort studied at the École nationale d'ingénieurs (National Engineering School) in Saint-Étienne. After his military service, which he did in the air force, he worked as a mechanical engineering teacher in Yzeure . In 1973 he joined the Parti socialiste . For this he moved in 1977 in the city council of Yzeure. After he had already been elected deputy in 1983, he was promoted to the post of first mayor in 1989. He was also elected to the General Council of the Allier Department in 1985. In the 2007 elections he was elected to the National Assembly in the first constituency of the Allier department, after which he retired from the General Council. In 2012 he was re-elected as a member of parliament with 57.6% in the second round.
