The Walsrode grammar school is a general education grammar school in Walsrode in Lower Saxony and has been an all-day school since 2005.
history
The Walsrode grammar school emerged from the upper secondary school founded in 1925, the so-called advanced school. Before a new school building was completed in 1928, lessons took place in two rooms of the agricultural school in Schmersahlstrasse in 1925 and in the workshop of master carpenter Röper in Wiesenstrasse from 1927. The first headmaster was Erich Keitel from Easter 1925 to Easter 1926. After moving into the new school building, the grammar school consisted of six classes and nine teachers in the beginning. The first extension took place in 1958.
Course offer
The Walsrode grammar school consists of grades 5 to 13. As a large grammar school in the rural region, the mission statement strives for the broadest possible orientation and no early specialization. There are different focuses in the linguistic, mathematical-scientific, musical-artistic and social areas. Wind and string classes are a popular option in grades 5 and 6. There are working groups in both the sporting and the musical and technical fields.
