Gymnocalycium angelae is a species of plant in the genus Gymnocalycium from the cactus family(Cactaceae). Thespecific epithet honors the wife of the Argentine botanist Roberto Kiesling , Angeles Gracilea Lopez.

Gymnocalycium angelae usually grows individually with bright green to medium-green, flattened spherical, shiny, smooth shoots and reaches heights of 10 centimeters with diameters of up to 8 centimeters. The roots are fibrous. The seven to ten, flat and wide, bluntly rounded ribs are furrowed across. The areoles are oval. There is no central spine . The seven yellowish radial spines turn gray with age and are 1.5 to 2 centimeters long.
The broad, funnel-shaped, white flowers are pink-red inside at the base of the flower tube. They have a diameter of 5 centimeters and are up to 4 centimeters long. The green fruits are up to 3 inches long.
Distribution and systematics
Gymnocalycium angelae is widespread in the Argentine province of Corrientes in the department of San Martín .
