Gyrinus Colymbus is a beetle from the family of whirligig beetles (Gyrinidae).
features
The beetles reach a body length of 5.5 to 7 millimeters. The cover wings are very finely chagrined at the bottom (grain pattern) or have a very narrow, point-like structure. The epipleurs on the pronotum and the wing panels are wholly or partially colored yellow, the legs are always yellow. The last abdomen segment is rust-colored.
Occurrence
The species is particularly common in south-eastern Europe. It occurs in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Balkans and partly also in Central Europe and as far as northern Italy and south-eastern France.
