The houses are now used by holiday apartments and small hotels; two of them with the maritime names Hus Kiek in de See and Villa Caldera .

The builder of the Villa Caldera from 1904 came from the eponymous Chilean port and saltpetre city of Caldera . The poet Joachim Ringelnatz often stayed as a holiday guest at Hus Kiek in de See .
