Héctor Ayala

Héctor Ayala (born April 11, 1914 in Concordia ( Entre Ríos province ), † March 12, 1990 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine guitarist and composer .

Life

Ayala began his career as an accompanist for tango and folk singers in Buenos Aires in the 1930s together with the guitarist Roberto Grela. He later played in the guitar groups led by Abel Fleury , which became known under the name "Escuadrones de Guitarras". From the 1950s onwards Ayala appeared on the radio and played in Aníbal Troilo's tango quartet .

Ayala published a number of original compositions (of which the series Americana became famous in particular ), a multi-volume guitar lesson and some transcriptions:
