Hédervári is an impact crater on the front of the Moon near the South Pole, south of Hale crater and north of Amundsen . The crater is heavily eroded and has a central mountain .
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1994 after the Hungarian geoscientist Peter Hédervári .
