Hélder da Costa (2019)

Hélder da Costa is the general secretary of the g7 + states , an international organization of fragile states. Costa is from East Timor .

Career

Costa received a PhD in commercial policy from the University of Adelaide in 2001 . For several years he was director of the Centro Nacional de Investigação Científica (CNIC) of the Universidade Nasionál Timór Lorosa'e (UNTL).

He gained 27 years of experience in development policy, agriculture, efficient aid and management in Australia , New Zealand and Southeast Asia . Before becoming Secretary General, Costa was National Coordinator of the Fragile States Initiative in the East Timorese Ministry of Finance under Minister Emília Pires .

As General Secretary of the g7 +, he has been coordinating the daily work of the secretary's office in the Ministry of Finance in East Timor's capital Dili since 2010 . He also advises the finance ministers of the g7 + on the efficiency of aid and the introduction of the New Deal in their countries and on a global level. In addition to his office as General Secretary, Costa is chief advisor in the National Directorate for the efficiency of aid in the East Timorese Ministry of Finance.
