Hotel Veillet-Dufrêche in Moncontour

The Hôtel Veillet-Dufrêche in Moncontour , a French commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region , was built in the 18th century. The Hôtel particulier at 12 Rue Veillet-Dufrêche was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1969 as Monument historique .

The city palace was built for Jean-Baptiste Veillet-Dufrêne, who ran an important cloth trading company that also supplied canvas for the Armada Española . The two-storey building with five window axes and tall chimneys is reminiscent of the villas of the merchants of Saint-Malo , known as malouinières .

The rooms are furnished with wood paneling made by local cabinet makers.
