The Hôtel dit Château-Gaillard , also known as Gaillard Castle , in Fontenay-le-Comte , a town in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region , was built in the 16th century. The portal of the former Hôtel particulier in rue du Pont-aux-Chèvres No. 2 has been protected as a Monument historique since 2009 .

The house, which stands southeast of the Catholic parish church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption , was built in the Renaissance style. The portal is crowned by a Laocoon group , Diana , the goddess of hunting, and Heracles .
