The Hôtel du Cardinal de Richelieu in Paris , the French capital, is a Hôtel particulier in the 3rd arrondissement . In 1920, the city palace at 21 Place des Vosges was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

The house was built for JA Lumagne from 1605 to 1612 and sold in 1659 to Arnaud du Plessis, a great-nephew of the cardinal and statesman Armand-Jean du Plessis, duc de Richelieu . In the 18th century, General Emmanuel-Armand de Vignerot du Plessis de Richelieu lived in the palace for a short time , and had a Chinese-style salon installed in it. A prince from Württemberg also rented the house in 1760.

In 1734 the building was connected to the neighboring house, the Hôtel de Bassompierre .
