The Hümmlinger Kreisbahn T1 was a four-axle narrow-gauge railcar that was built by the Dessauer Waggonfabrik for the Hümmlinger Kreisbahn . After this railway line was re-gauged, the railcar was used as the T3 on the Osterode-Kreiensen circuit until it was closed in 1967 . Then the car was parked and scrapped.
history
This railcar was delivered to the Hümmlinger Kreisbahn in 1934 according to a draft of the railway administration . The original drawing of the vehicle has been preserved. The manufacturer's documents from the Dessau archive are considered a war loss. The railcar was intended to carry 50 people and had a top speed of 60 km / h. Due to the light superstructure, only a speed of 40 km / h was approved. The railcar was often on its own; to transport additional cars, it was equipped with a conventional coupling for narrow-gauge railways and air lines.
The railcar survived the war without damage. The center headlights on the front sides were later converted to a triple headlights. In addition, the railcar received a roof rack with side access after 1945. After reinforcing the track's superstructure, the railcar was able to run at a top speed of 55 km / h. He carried out the passenger train service until the end of narrow-gauge operation.
KOK T3
When the Hümmlinger Kreisbahn was switched to standard gauge in 1957 , the Osterode-Kreiensen Kreisbahn (KOK) acquired the vehicle as its third railcar and classified it as the T3 . Here the roof ventilators were removed and the railcar fitted with ventilators in the side walls. Until the end of the 1950s, the railcar carried out passenger train service and almost exclusively freight train service. With the decline of the narrow-gauge railway, the more modern KOK T1 was preferred and the T3 was neglected. In 1968 the KOK T3 was scrapped.
Constructive description
The railcar, similar to a tram with its central headlight , had a drive concept that had been tried and tested for ten years with the DWK railcars . The Hümmlinger Kreisbahn T1 had a tapered front and revolving doors on both sides as entrances. The roof was just finished. The passenger compartment had three seating groups in the middle with transverse seats in the division 2 + 1 and at the ends of the car towards the driver's cabins without any partition walls, longitudinal seats with three places. The middle windows of the passenger compartment and the windows of the entrance doors were condescending. All other windows were made with fixed glazing. In the middle of the driver's cab, which had a large windshield, was the driver's workplace.
The original machinery was a Deutz F6M 313 diesel engine with an output of 75 hp. A Mylius gearbox was connected downstream . This drove the inner axles of the bogies via cardan shafts . At the KOK, the railcar received an AGL 514 diesel engine from Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz with an output of 110 hp. The primary suspension was made with leaf springs .
The railcar originally had two radiators on the roof. A coke oven can be seen as heating on the sketch.
