Neo Turf Masters ( Big Tournament Golf in Japan ) is a Golf - video game of Nazca for the Neo Geo , which was published in the 1996th It is also one of the first Nazca Corporation titles , alongside the popular Metal Slug , before it was bought by SNK .

Versions

The game was released as a version for arcades (MVS), as a home version (AES) and also for the home system Neo Geo CD . The Neo-Geo version was later released as a re-release in the SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 game collection for the PlayStation 2 , Wii and PlayStation Portable , as well as a Virtual Console . Hamster also released a port for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch as part of their Arcade Archives series.

A version for the Neo Geo Pocket Color was released in 1999. The NGPC version contains cartoon-like characters and less realistic graphics compared to the Neo-Geo version, which partly used digitized sprites with motion capturing .

Gameplay

The game is a fast-paced, arcade-heavy golf game. The player can choose between two modes: stroke play for one or two players and match play , which is only for two players.

Tournaments are played on four different fictitious courses with 18 holes each. This includes a course in the USA , a course in Germany , Japan and Australia . The player can choose from six different types of players and characters:

The game is played with a 2-click system. First, the strength of the blow is determined with one click. The second click decides the height. A hook or slice can also be set using a button . In addition to different surfaces, the wind plays a very important role while playing.
