Hürlimann is a Swiss tractor manufacturer that is now part of the Italian SDF group.

history

The company was founded in 1929 by Hans Hürlimann (* August 18, 1901 , † November 19, 1977 ) in Wil in the canton of St. Gallen . The first tractor had a 1-cylinder Bernard engine with 8 hp.

In 1939, Hürlimann presented a world first: the first diesel engine with direct injection . By the mid-1960s, more than 10,000 tugs had been sold. Among the farmers, the Hürlimann tractors gained the reputation of being a little "Rolls Royce". Most of the components of the Hürlimann tractors were manufactured in-house.

The Hürlimann D-200, a 4x2 tractor with a Hürliman D200 diesel, 4-cylinder 4021 cm³ engine with 33 kW (45 PS), with 5-speed gearbox, a tank capacity of 45 liters and the electric one The 24 V system was also procured by the Swiss Army from 1948 to 1952 in a total of 121. The army used the D-200 as a tractor and work vehicle for infantry, engineering troops , heavy anti-aircraft, air protection and medical services.
