Hüseyin Gokce

Hüseyin Gökçe (born April 8, 1954 in Denizli ) is a Turkish journalist and book author.

Life

Gökçe began his journalistic career in middle school, which he left in the last grade without a degree. He started working as a local journalist at the age of 15, and at 22 he became co-owner of the local newspaper Meydan Gazetesi in Denizli. He made up for his abandoned training at evening school and then began studying to become a teacher. In 1977 he moved to Istanbul and worked as a freelance journalist for various magazines and newspapers. From 1989 to 1990 he was editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Zaman . He then went into business for himself as a textile entrepreneur and lived abroad until 1995. After this time he worked as general secretary of the Merter employers' association and publisher of the magazine of the same organization. At the same time he was Honorary Consul of Moldova in Istanbul for five years . In the traveling group of the Turkish President Suleyman Demirel he visited 20 countries. As an author, Gökçe has written a total of 11 books, including novels, travelogues, books of poetry, etiquette guides and history books. Gökçe also founded the Han Yayınları publishing house in 2009 . Among other things, Gökçe is a voluntary member of the board of the Turkish Globetrotter Association Gezginler Kulübü . Gökçe is married and has two daughters and a son.
